Welcome to TribesAndHistory, where the heartbeat of Africa’s rich cultures, stories, and traditions comes alive through pictorial books, comics, animations, games, and quizzes. Founded by Nmasichi Chukwuemeka, TribesAndHistory is a storytelling and media platform dedicated to preserving and celebrating the diverse heritage of Africa. We have created the Tribe Verse, where these stories are told.
Africa is a continent of 54 countries, each with its own traditions, languages, and histories. Yet, many of these stories remain untold or overlooked. At TribesAndHistory, we believe that every history deserves to be heard.
We also collaborate with creators across the globe who share a passion for Africa’s narrative and give them a platform to bring their works to life.

Founding Story
As a child growing up in Africa, Nmasichi loved immersing herself in stories. She devoured Archie comics and watched countless animations, but she noticed a glaring absence of African narratives in these formats.
The absence of this representation planted a seed in her—a dream of creating an African storytelling platform where history, legends, mythologies, and folklore could come to life in vibrant and engaging ways.
That dream stayed with her for years until 2024, when she attended a Fearless Fund event. There, she shared her vision for TribesAndHistory and was met with overwhelming enthusiasm. For Nmasichi, this was the turning point. She decided to pursue her dream fully, leaving her job in March 2024 to focus on building her platform. By August 2024, TribesAndHistory was officially registered as a business. Through TribesAndHistory, Nmasichi Chukwuemeka is not just telling stories—she is reshaping how they are told, preserving Africa’s legacy for generations to come.
About The Founder
Nmasichi Chukwuemeka is a visionary entrepreneur, storyteller, and advocate for African narratives. She is the founder of TribesAndHistory and Masi Brands.
Nmasichi came to the United States as a teenager on a full-ride scholarship. Alone in a new country, she pursued her education with determination, earning a double degree in Computer Science & Technology and Applied Design. While working as an application developer for two and a half years, she found her work unfulfilling. She always knew she was destined for something more. As a result, her two companies were founded.
Nmasichi has excelled as an entrepreneur, and her impactful work has earned her prestigious accolades, including the Rising Star Award at the Powerful Women Rising Impact Awards and recognition as one of the BPM Global 100 Leading Black Professionals. Her entrepreneurial journey has been celebrated on platforms like Entreprenista and PenHaus Media. She has also shared her entrepreneurial journey on podcasts, including the Money Mindset Hub Podcast and Healing Through Conversations Podcast.
